Obituary: Anthony “Tony” Mauro, 76, of East Haven
An Army veteran during the Vietnam War era, before retiring, he worked at Southern Connecticut State University in the bursar's office.
Anthony “Tony” Mauro 76, of East Haven beloved husband of Kathleen Elko Mauro passed away on January 11, 2022 in Yale New Haven Hospital St. Raphael Campus. Loving father of Luke (Amber) Mauro of Stratford. Grandfather of Nicholas and Austin Mauro. Brother of Carol Mason of North Haven and the late Tina Console and Ralph Mauro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Tony was born in New Haven on July 7, 1945 son of the late Anthony and Rachel Esposito Mauro.

Prior to his retirement Tony worked in the bursar's office of SCSU. Tony served his country faithfully in the Army during the Vietnam Era.
His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven SATURDAY morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Family and friends may call FRIDAY from 4pm to 7pm.
