Obituary: Avis Broggi Carney, 99, of East Haven

Avis Broggi Carney age 99 of East Haven beloved wife of the late Robert J. Carney passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023 in ARK Healthcare at Branford Hills. Loving mother of Joan (Ben) Carney, Carol (Renaud) Demers, Ann (Richard) Caprio and Susan (Paul) Calamita. Grandmother to Zack Lischer-Katz (Jackie), Amy Nyman (Kenny), Ryan Caprio and Andrew and Sarah Calamita. Great grandmother to Zoey Nyman. She was predeceased by her brother and sister -in- law Henry and Getrude Broggi and son - in-law Neil Katz. Avis was born in Bloomfield, NJ daughter of the late Henry L. and Marie Casagrande Broggi. She grew up in Glen Ridge, NJ and moved to Connecticut after she married.

The family would like to thank the staff at ARK Healthcare at Branford Hills for the care and compassion they provided to Avis.

Family and friends are invited to A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church FRIDAY morning March 17, 2023 at 11:00. Interment will be private. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. Arrangements are in care of the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven.
