Obituary: Barbara Coppola, 79, of East Haven

Barbara Coppola, 79 of East Haven died peacefully at her home on Sunday May 28, 2023. She was the wife of the late Harry Coppola Sr. Barbara was born in New Haven, CT on July 30, 1943 to the late William and Annette Ginnetti.

Barbara loved her family, she loved to cook, especially Sunday sauce and meatballs and never said no to ice cream. Barbara was in constant communication with her family and close friends. She was a devoted Catholic, a very active parishioner of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at St. Vincent DePaul Church where she studied the bible, a member of the Ladies Guild, a Eucharistic minister. She loved her faith, and her duties of being a Eucharistic minister so much, that she volunteered her time delivering the Eucharist to parishioners who were unable to leave their homes. Barbara was everyone’s go-to; she would help anyone who needed it. She will be forever remembered as a caring, loving, helpful, giving and faithful woman who never complained.

She was survived by her loving children Lisa (Les) Ross of Milford, Laura (Raymond) Halliday of North Haven, and Harry Jr. of East Haven; her adoring grandchildren Anthony Toscano, Danielle Dibianco, Michael Toscano, D.J DiBianco, and Nicholas DiBianco, and a brother William Ginnetti Jr., and Phyllis (Tony) Coppola.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish- St Vincent DePaul Church (Taylor Ave- East Haven) on Friday June 2, 2023, burial will be held immediately after at East Lawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours at Barbara’s request. East Haven Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
