Obituary: Bernice Ann Johnson Hubbard, 92, of East Haven
Gentle, kind, and loving, she was the wife of the former deputy police chief, worked for the Town and FBI and enjoyed gardening and baking.

Bernice Ann Johnson Hubbard, 92, a lifelong resident of East Haven beloved wife of 58 years to the late William U. Hubbard (Deputy Police Chief of East Haven) passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 27, 2022 at her home. Loving mother of Janice M. Hubbard of East Haven and William A. (Diane) Hubbard of Exeter, RI. Grandmother of Richard P. (Kelly Anderson) Esposito of Mount Pleasant, SC; Michelle L. Hubbard Robertson Esq., and her husband Samuel S. Robertson of Boston, MA; Dr. Kristen B. Hubbard and her husband Dr. John B. Kelly III of Exeter, RI; Dr. William A. Hubbard Jr; and his wife Kimberly Rose (Thompson) Hubbard Esq., of Riverside, CA; Dr. Jennifer L. Hubbard and Dr. Ayman Saeyeldin of Providence, RI; and Dr. Jacqueline A. Hubbard and her husband Dr. Oleg V. Martynov of Pittsburgh, PA. Great grandmother of Mia C. Esposito, William Hubbard III and Fin Robertson. Bernice was born in New Haven on June 30, 1930 daughter of the late Carl Richard and Mary Warner Johnson.
Prior to her retirement Bernice was a mortgage representative for the former Union Trust Bank. She was a gentle, kind, and loving woman who enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life including watching football, gardening, baking, bowling, ceramics, crochet, playing piano, and spending time with her family. She had a fruitful career working for the East Haven Town Hall, Union Trust Bank, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. Rte. (80) East Haven THURSDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call THURSDAY morning from 8:30 to 10:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.water.org
