Obituary: Ellen (Harper) McKerral Lindsay, 83, of East Haven
Ellen, who passed away on Christmas, her "favorite day," loved singing and playing bingo, and time with family, friends and her dog Halli.
Ellen (Harper) McKerral Lindsay, 83, of East Haven passed away on Christmas day, her favorite day of the year. She was born April 28, 1937, in Glasgow, Scotland to William and Elizabeth (Reilly) Harper. Ellen is survived by her loving daughter, Lorraine McKerral Dinneen of East Haven and six grandchildren Ellen adored, Ryan Dinneen (Stefania), Heather Dinneen, Shauna Dinneen Cappella, Drew McKerral (fiancé, Jasmine Mannix), Stephen McKerral and Ryan McKerral. Ellen is also survived by three great grandchildren who were her pride and joy, RJ Dinneen, Gabrielle Dinneen and Harper Cappella. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James McKerral (2003), son, Andrew McKerral (Helen) and three brothers, Bill, George and James Harper.
Ellen enjoyed going to the casino, singing and playing bingo, but her favorite time was being with her family, friends and companion dog, “Halli.” She served as a private Au pair in Darien and retired after 30 years of service.
A special “Thank You” to all of Ellen’s caregivers, especially, Jimmy, Rosie, Sandriya, Dr. Lara Colabelli and her entire staff for their kind and compassionate care.
