Eugene “Geno” Nazzaro 36 of West Haven and East Haven passed away January 16, 2019 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born December 15, 1982 in New Haven to Anthony Sr. and Paula (Bonfiglio) Nazzaro of East Haven. Eugene is survived by his loving parents, brother, Anthony Nazzaro Jr. (Amy) of Meriden, uncle, William Nazzaro (Theresa) of New Haven, aunt, Jo-Ann Dziuba (Anthony) of East Haven and uncle, Robert Bonfiglio of New Haven. He is also survived by cousins, Claire Nazzaro, Roman Dziuba and Erika Kaleba (John), along with a great cousin, Amanda Kaleba. He is also survived by his roommate Monique. He is preceded in death by his sister, Amanda Nazzaro (1997).

Geno was a one-of-a kind soul. A very loving and caring person. The only things he loved more than his family and friends are The New York Yankees, New York Jets and playing softball. The Jets, he would tell you, were the bane of his existence. To quote WFAN sports talk host Joe Benigno, “Oh the Pain!” You would also find him a majority of the time in one of two places, on the softball field or at home taking a long nap or playing video games. If you were lucky enough to be a family member or close friend, he would give you the shirt off his back or more. To quote the greatest wrestler of all time and one of Geno’s favorites, he would often yell this after getting a base hit or more during softball….”WOOOOOOOO!”
