George J. Conroy 49, of East Haven passed away on August 11, 2018 in Yale New Haven Hospital St. Raphael Campus. George was born in New Haven on September 8, 1968 son of Elizabeth “Betty” Capone Conroy of East Haven and the late George A. Conroy. Brother of the late Martin “Marty” Conroy. Best friend of Sabrina Lee and Betzi Torres.

At the time of his death George worked for Yale University in the Sterling Memorial Library. George was a talented and gifted self-taught artist. He also loved to dance and perform at charity events throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. George and his late brother Marty enjoyed a business partnership at the Branford Art Glass Studio at the Bittersweet Farm in Branford for many years.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven THURSDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will be private. Friends may call THURSDAY morning from 8:30 to 10:30.
