Obituary: Inez Gagliardi, 94, of East Haven

Inez Gagliardi, 94, of East Haven passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Inez was born on March 25, 1927 to the late Michael and Eleanor (Vivenzio) DeCicco in New Haven. Inez is survived by her children; Son, Michael Gagliardi Jr. (Roberta) of Essex, and Daughter, Jean Gagliardi of East Haven; her four grandchildren, Michelle Gagliardi Huffman (Sherman) of FL, Christina Gagliardi O'Connor of PA, Michael Gagliardi of Essex and Frank Lyon of East Haven, She was his best friend. In addition she leaves behind five great-grandchildren; a very loving and supporting nephew, Robert Moniello of East Haven, as well as many other nieces and nephews and a brother- in- law Matteo Gagliardi of East Haven. She is preceded in death by her Husband of 57 years Michael I. Gagliardi Sr., and her seven siblings.

Inez enjoyed working for H.B. Ives for 12 years and then retired in 1988. She loved cooking, sewing and baking for her family. She was also an avid Yankees fan. Inez spent her free time volunteering at St. Clare’s Church and CT Hospice and was a caregiver to many friends and relatives throughout her life. She was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday, July 26, 2021 in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven .Her funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Tuesday July 27, at 10:45 A.M for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East haven with committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
