James F. Martone, Sr., 88, of East Haven passed away November 6, 2021 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Husband of the late Margaret Doerschuk Martone. Beloved father of James F. (Kim) Martone, Jr. of East Haven and the late Lisa Massaro. Loving grandfather of Erica (Rocco) Corso, Brandon Martone and Alex Massaro. Cherished great-grandfather of Rosella Corso. Brother of the late Rose Balsamo, Mildred Frosolone, Ann Basilicato, Anthony and Ciro Martone. Jim was born in New Haven on February 18, 1933 a son of the late Orlando and Rose DeMaio Martone.
Prior to his retirement in 1997 he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 42 years. He was an Army veteran.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday morning at 11:00 in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Burial will be private. Arrangements are in care of the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven.
