Obituary: James “Jim” Lyons, 90, of East Haven
A WWII veteran, he was an electrician and loved fishing, hiking and was a lifetime member of the New Haven Sportsman Club.

James “Jim” Lyons 90, of East Haven beloved husband of the late Norine Clark Lyons passed away on July 13, 2021 in Whispering Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Loving father of James (Annie) Lyons Jr of Branford, Robert Lyons of East Haven and Marianne (Billy) Moscatelli of Wallingford and the late Kathy Lyon. Father-in-law of Donald Lyon. Grandfather of Donna (Kyle) Denny, April Surmiak, Robert Jr, Nikki, Chelsea, James, Caden and Camryn Lyons and Nick Moscatelli and the late Donald Lyon Jr and Brian Mathis. Jim was like a grandfather to Anna and Hollie Proto. Great grandfather of Brianna Lyon, Haley Denny, Elizabeth Surmiak, Charleigh and Wyatt Rentas and Jack and Savannah Mathis. Brother of Shirley Guerra of New Haven and the late Richard Lyons.
Prior to his retirement Jim was an electrician for Bilco Door and Cable Waves. Jim served his country faithfully in the Army during WW II.
The Lyons family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Whispering Pines for the care shown to Jim during his illness.
Jim loved fishing, hiking and was a lifetime member of the New Haven Sportsman Club.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service with military honors FRIDAY morning at 11:00 in All Saints Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery office at 10:45. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter 749 East Main St. Branford, CT. 06405. Arrangements are in care of the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven.
