Obituary: Jean Judge Zabawar, 83, of East Haven

Jean Judge Zabawar, 83, of East Haven, entered into eternal rest on April 12, 2023. Jean was born in Pittston, PA on July 30, 1939, daughter of the late James and Jean Mortimer Judge. Loving mother of Peggy Z. Moreno (Arturo) Anne Pisani, James Zabawar and John Zabawar. Devoted Grandmother to Tyler Pisani, Nick Pisani, Lindsay Zabawar, Mark Zabawar and Jake Zabawar. Cherished Sister to Mary Lou Mahar and Nancy Moran and the late Shirley Schenk and Jay Judge. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Prior to her retirement, Jean was the Director of Construction for Subway World Headquarters for 25 years. Jean was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii. She attended daily mass, was an altar server, a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered for many church events. She took the most pride in being the best mother to her four children, and dedicated grandmother to her five grandchildren.
