Obituary: Jennifer Butler-Whitcher, 39, of East Haven
A GoFundMe has been created to help the family, husband and four kids, after the sudden and unexpected death of the East Haven mother.

EAST HAVEN, CT —The community is coming together to help a young family after the sudden death of Jennifer Butler-Whitcher, 39 of East Haven at her home on Feb. 11.
A GoFundMe and a MealTrain appeal have been created to help her husband and four children after the sudden and unexpected death of the well-known beautician.
"One of Jenn’s dreams came true when she opened Shear Passion Hair Salon at Phenix Salons. All her guests were welcomed with her contagious smile and an open heart for their “hairapy” sessions," the GoFundMe created by a family member reads.

Butler-Whitcher was an "exceptional mother to four beautiful children" and "the most caring, supportive, determined, and let’s not forget selfless person we have ever met."
"We would define her as a true warrior and she overcame any challenge she encountered. Her determination to live life to the fullest was an inspiration in itself," the GoFundMe reads. "This is no better feeling than knowing someone who had such a huge impact on our lives will never be forgotten."

The appeal hopes to riase funds to pay for her funeral and help support the family.
"As many of you know, this was an unexpected tragedy for our family. We are so appreciative of everyone who has been reaching out to provide their condolences, prayers, and donations. We are hoping to rally together to provide Jenn with the beautiful send off to start the heavenly journey she deserves. Additionally, remaining funds will go towards providing for all four children and the household."
There is also a MealTrain campaign to help feed the father and his four children. People can sign up to provide a meal or meals for the family.

Jennifer Butler-Whitcher, 39 of East Haven, a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend passed away February 11, 2021 unexpectedly at home. She was born October 28, 1981 in New Haven to William and Mary Ann (Rogers) Butler. Jennifer is survived by her mother, loving and devoted husband of 10 years, Gregory Whitcher and four children; Alec Goodman, Grace Whitcher, Gavin Whitcher and Logan Whitcher all of East Haven. She is also survived by her brother, William V. Butler Jr. of Cheshire, uncle/aunt, Robert and Jacqueline (Tarka) Butler of East Haven and in-laws, William and Donna (Wilson) Whitcher of East Haven.
Jennifer was the light in the darkness, always helping others find their way. She lived her dream always welcoming guests to Shear Passion with an infectious smile and providing what she would call hairapy. Jenn was a warrior. Born to fight yet built to love. She was the most amazing mother. From our youngest to our eldest and the challenges as an autism mom, she always remained a positive force and brought life into all our lives. Her talents didn’t stop there. She was also my amazing wife, the love of my life. My reason for everything. I love you always.
Family will receive mask wearing friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2020 from 4 P.M until the time of service at 6 P.M. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
