Obituary: Joann Baron Affie, 74, of East Haven

Joann Baron Affie 74, of East Haven beloved wife of Robert J. “Bob” Affie passed away on March 23, 2022 in CT Hospice. Loving mother of R.J. (Stephanie) Affie of Helena, AL. Grandmother of Sophie and Roman Affie, the loves of her life. Sister of Donna Savage of East Haven. Joann is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joann was born in Bridgeport on April 9, 1947 daughter of the late Jean Spata Baron.

Prior to her retirement, Joann was a LPN for the West Haven VA Medical Center. She was a 1965 graduate of Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gettinger and the staff of Smilow Cancer Hospital for their exceptional care.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven MONDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call SUNDAY from 4pm to 7pm.
