John Araujo, 73, of New Haven passed away March 23, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Husband of the late Grace Santos Araujo who passed away on the same day two years earlier. Beloved father of Steven (Jemery) Araujo of Wallingford and Stephanie (Jude) Dichele of Branford. Loving grandfather of Isabelle Araujo and Savannah Dichele. Cherished brother of Maria DeLima of Wallingford, Maria Correia of Hamden, Filomena Sousa of Azores, Portugal, Jose Araujo of West Haven and Manuel Maiato of Azores, Portugal.
John was born in Azores, Portugal on June 19, 1952 a son of the late Jose Maria Araujo and Maria Docarmo Maiato. Prior to his retirement he worked for the H. B. Ives Company for many years.
His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven Friday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
