Obituary: John McNeil Jr., 61, Of East Haven

EAST HAVEN, CT — (From Hamden Memorial Funeral Home): It is with heavy hearts that the McNeil family announces the passing of John McNeil Jr.

John passed away suddenly in his home in East Haven on Saturday, July 8. Known lovingly and affectionately by his friends and loved ones as “Johnny Mac” he is survived by his three sons Adam, Scott and Colin, his grandson Chase, his sisters Madelyn, Nancy, Diane, many nieces and nephews, his mother Emily and predeceased by his father John Sr.

He worked hard his whole life and loved nothing more than watching a Yankees game with a Becks beer. He spent many of his days as a manager at Home Depot in North Haven where he made many lifelong, treasured friends.

He always put the happiness of others before his own and anyone who knew him knew there wasn’t anyone quicker with a joke and helping hand. He was loved and will be missed dearly.
