The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Joe. He loved a quiet evening with friends and family with a beer in hand. Cards, softball, corn hole, skiing and camping were just a few of his favorite activities. Joe also loved the Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys. Joe loved to travel with his family and meet new people. Joe was a long time member of The Elks Club Lodge #25 where he followed in his father's footsteps Robert Benson becoming Irish man of the year.
He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities. Joe would do anything for anyone whether he knew them his whole life or had just met them saying “no problem”. His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met not to mention that contagious laugh that he had.
