Obituary: Josephine Frances Iannelli D’Argento, 75, of East Haven
Loved by all who knew her, she opened her home to everyone, and she was happiest surrounded by family, friends, sunshine, and warm weather.

Josephine Frances Iannelli D’Argento, 75, of East Haven beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, was called home to Heaven on July 12, 2022, at The Mary Wade Home in New Haven. Josephine was born on October 31, 1946, in Waterbury, CT, a daughter of the late Saverio and Rafaela “Rae” (Cicchetti) Ianelli.
She attended Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, graduating in 1964. Upon graduation, Josephine traveled around the world, her favorite destinations being Greece and Italy. After her travels, she worked for Aetna for more than 15 years, and during this time met her cherished husband, Bobby. They married on January 26, 1974, and together raised a beautiful family.

Josephine was loved by all who knew her; she affectionately opened her home to everyone, and was happiest surrounded by family, friends, sunshine, and warm weather. As retirees, she and Bobby enjoyed many vacations with family and friends.

Above all else, Josephine cherished being a grandmother and spending time with her 11 grandchildren. Throughout her life, she had an inseparable bond with her sister, Joanne, and her sister-in-law Katherine, making many wonderful memories together. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Human Resources/Payroll Director for The Fusco Corportation for more than 25 years.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Robert John D’Argento Jr., her sister, Joanne Monaco, and her brother-in-law David D’Argento. She leaves behind her children; RaeAnne (Timothy) Cordova of Southington, R.J. D’Argento of Newington, Linda (Robert) Crossman of Texas, and Karen (Erich) Bussey of Branford; and her grandchildren, Andrew, Keira, and Alex Cordova, Camden D’Argento, Stephen, Kevin, and Cory Crossman, and Sky, Haley, Marisa, and Thunder Bussey. She also leaves behind a sister, Mary Ann Santamauro of Waterbury a brother, John Iannelli of Southington and many beloved nieces and nephews, and cherished friends.
The family would like to give thanks and appreciation to the staff at The Mary Wade Home and The Connecticut Hospice, who continuously provided unconditional love, compassion, and support to their “JoJo” for the past several years.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Saturday morning at 10:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:30. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call SATURDAY MORNING from 8:30-10:00.
