Obituary: Julia LaCroix of East Haven

She was a member of the Irish American Club in East Haven, and also liked to be at the Branford Elks Club with her husband.

Julia LaCroix of East Haven died on Monday August 20 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Robert F. LaCroix (NHFD Ret. Captain). She was the daughter of the late Lyman White and Dorothy Keating White. She was the mother of Robert LaCroix Jr. (Christine) of Edgewater, MD, Denise LaCroix (Chris Brown) of East Haven, Carole LaCroix-Latella , NHFD (Peter) of East Haven, and Thomas (Tamra) LaCroix of East Haven.

She was the sister of Dorothy Gemmell of Orange, Regina Beauton of Daytona, FL, Kathryn Taylor (Arnold) of New Haven, and Susan Evans of East Haven. She was also survived by 7 grandchildren. Julie was born in New Haven on February 3, 1946. She was a unit clerk at the Hospital of St. Raphael.

She also worked as a librarian at the Momauguin School in East Haven. She was a member of the Irish American Club in East Haven, and also liked to be at the Branford Elks Club with her husband. Julie loved listening to music, dancing, and singing with her family and friends.

She could often be found watching the sunset towards the lighthouse with Bob on the deck with “the boys”. (Her beloved Shelties.)A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:00 at St. Mary Church in Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 East Main St. Branford, CT 06405 or to the Closer to Free Fund, P.O.
