Obituary: Lawrence “Larry” Palermo Sr., 72, of East Haven
A retied corrections officer, he was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast who loved the oldies, a good cigar, a beer and hanging with his dog Sadie.

Lawrence “Larry” Palermo Sr. 72 of East Haven passed away November 30, 2021. He was born July 24, 1949 in New Haven to Angelo and Marion (Burr) Palermo. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Gabriella (Kirbs) Palermo and his son, Lawrence “Little Larry” Palermo (Danielle) of Exton, PA along with one granddaughter he adored, Gabriella Palermo. He is also survived his sister, Barbara Kaplan of North Haven, mother-in-law, Gerlinde Kirbs of West Haven and many nieces and nephews. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clarence Wood.
He graduated in the class of 1967 from Eli Whitney in the Auto Mechanic program. He was a Correctional Officer for the State of Ct at both the Whalley Ave and Cheshire facilities and retired after 21 yrs of service. He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast who enjoyed riding and was involved in the Christian Motorcycle Association, the Blue Knights and a H.O.G Member. He enjoyed his “Oldies” music like no other. He liked a good cigar and a beer and hanging out with his “Sadie dog.” He was an AWESOME detailer of all of his vehicles/anything with wheels. The detailing supply companies will miss him as will all of us.

Family will receive friends from on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 6:30 P.M. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
