Lena Tramontano, 94 of East Haven, wife of the late Vincent Joseph Tramontano passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 16, 2021.
Lena was the heart of the family and loved cooking for everyone, especially her famous chicken soup and meatballs. Her home and kitchen were always open. She adored all of the babies in the family and helped to raise many of them. Her greatest treasures were her newest babies Chase and Colton and they loved to be with her and raiding her refrigerator.
She enjoyed Monday night mahjong games with the ladies and made up her own rules along the way. She was especially close to her niece Maryann DeChello who was like a daughter to her and always kept her hair perfect. Lena was a great mom who left her sons with memories of little league, trips to the beach and Savin Rock. She leaves her nieces with memories of K-Mart shopping for Barbie clothes and cafeteria lunches on Fridays. She leaves every baby she ever met with a memory of sore cheeks from all the loving pinches. Most of all she leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship and laughter. We will all miss her but are so grateful for the love she gave us.
Lena is survived by her sons Vincent Tramontano, Richard (Beth) Tramontano; Grandson Derek (Brittney) Tramontano; Great Grandsons Chase & Colton Tramontano. She is also survived by her brother John Onofrio, and many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great-Nephews.Beside her loving husband, Lena is predeceased by her parents Michael and Maria Onofrio, Brothers Michael and Anthony Onofrio, and Sisters Rose Mingione and Ann Yeomans.
