Obituary: Marie Germe Monico, 93, of East Haven

Marie Germe Monico 93, of East Haven beloved wife of the late Mario Monico passed away on July 8, 2022 surrounded by her family at CT. Hospice. Loving mother of Julie (John) Lacey of Branford, Prisco (Mary) Monico and Michael (Lisa) Monico all of East Haven. Loving and proud grandmother of Stephanie (Tim) Doyle, Michael (Barbara) Monico, Philip (Erica) Madonna, Nicholas (Sarah) Monico, Matthew (Morgan) Monico and Melissa (Matthew) Ackerman. Great Grandmother of Julia, Annmarie and David Doyle, Sophia and Gianna Monico, Mario Madonna, Mia Lizondro, Nora and Peyton Ackerman and Olivia Monico. Sister of the late Helen Dynderski.

Marie was born in New Haven on January 2, 1929 daughter of the late Anthony “Buzzy” and Julia D’Antonio Germe.

Prior to her retirement, Marie was a bookkeeper for Robby Len Swim Wear.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven TUESDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call TUESDAY morning from 8:30 to 10:30.
