Obituary: Mary (Kelly) Granfield, 93, of East Haven
Mary was an active parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church, and assisted at St. Vincent de Paul School.

Mary (Kelly) Granfield 93 of East Haven passed away peacefully in Wellesley MA on October 19, 2018. She was born March 6, 1925 in New Haven to Charles and Sheila (Kirby) Kelly. Mary is survived by her three children, William Granfield (MariaLuisa) of Mt. Vernon, NY, Maureen Hufnagle (John) of Centerville, MA and Kevin Granfield (Christine) of Newton, MA along with eight grandchildren, Sulema Granfield, Liam Granfield, John Hufnagle, Sheila Hufnagle, William Hufnagle, Daniel Hufnagle, Kevin Granfield, Catherine Granfield and four great grandchildren.
Mary is also survived by two brothers, Shaun Kelly of Fairfield and Charles Kelly of Naples, FL and numerous nieces/nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Granfield (2012) and brother, George Kelly.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who loved spending time with her family and friends. Mary’s faith in God, and her devotion to our Blessed Mother sustained her throughout her life.
Mary kept family connections alive with her many aunts, uncles and cousins in Ireland. These connections brought Mary much joy, and have been a blessing to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a member of Owenego in Branford, where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and swimming early in the summer and as late as possible into the fall. Mary was an active parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church, and assisted at St. Vincent de Paul School.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 9 – 10:40 a.m. at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will leave on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
