Obituary: Michael P. Volpe, 70, of East Haven

Michael P. Volpe, 70, of East Haven, passed away at the Bridgeport Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital on Friday, December 3, 2021. He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on January 28, 1951, to the late Michael and Angelina Sateriale Volpe.

He worked for many years in the Construction Industry, until his retirement. Mike had many passions, including long rides on his Harley, vacationing in Aruba, all things Italian, but mostly, he was a true family man and loved being with all his close friends and family.

He is survived by his two daughters, Anna (Casey) Knechtel of Norwalk and Nina Volpe of Fairfield, a sister, Marilyn Volpe of Fairfield, as well as two grandsons, Harrison and Wilson Knechtel.

Funeral will leave the East Haven Memorial Longobardi – Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, 10:30 Thursday morning for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Parish of St. Pio of Pietrelcina at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven at 11 am. Burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm. At the family’s request, please attend all of Michael’s services both at church and the funeral home, wearing a mask.
