Obituary: Nadine Schneider, 66, of East Haven

Nadine Schneider, 66, died on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born in Montclair, N.J. on October 18, 1955 to the late Michael and Eleanor Schneider.

She was a resident of the Marrakech View Terrace Group Home in East Haven where she was loved by her roommates and staff. She was also a participant at the ARC of Hamden Day Program where she enjoyed socializing with staff and peers, as well as participating in music and pet therapy sessions.

Nadine enjoyed playing board games, going for walks, looking at magazines, listening to music, playing with her blocks and baby dolls and going to Dunkin' Donuts.

Nadine spent many years participating in Special Olympics where she was proud to have won gold medals. She was also a fan of the theatre and attending Camp Horizon for many years. She was always one to help around the house, especially setting the table for meals.

Family was important to Nadine as she cherished her visits seeing her mother. She also loved to dance, sample food and was a self-proclaimed expert at eating ice-cream. There was no flavor Nadine would turn down! She was a loving friend who preferred to be around her peers rather than be alone.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 6th at 8:30 am at WS Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N Main St, Branford, followed by a graveside service at 10:00 am at Cromwell Hillside West Cemetery, 29 Hillside Road Cromwell.
