Obituary: ​Peter L. Simoni 67, of East Haven

Peter L. Simoni 67, of East Haven, retired E.H.P.D beloved husband of the late Wendy Loller Simoni passed away on July 1, 2018 in CT. Hospice. Loving father of Matthew (Melissa Pandolfi) Simoni of North Branford. Brother of Terrie (Gil) Carney and Elizabeth Schirra all of Florida and Michael (Lesley) Simoni of East Haven and Edward (Lisa) Simoni of Newington. Peter was born in New Haven on July 18, 1950 son of Louis Simoni of West Palm Beach, FL and the late Georgette Jeanfaivre Simoni. He is also survived by his pets Sophie and Bocelli.

Prior to his retirement Peter was a Detective Sergeant for the E.H.P.D. He later worked for the Archdiocese of Hartford as a school teacher at St. Francis and St. Bridget Catholic Schools. Peter was a New York Yankee fan and an avid fly fisherman and a Navy veteran.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven FRIDAY afternoon at 12:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 1:00. Interment with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
