Obituary: Regina Riolino, 66, of East Haven

An artist and art lover, and proud of her Italian-American heritage​, she was a San Catello Society​ member who loved living by the water.

Regina Riolino of East Haven died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday May 1st at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on December 29th, 1955 to the late Anthony “Murphy” and Rose Merola Castellano. She was sister to Bernadette, Kenneth, and Justine Castellano of New Haven and San Francisco. She was the devoted wife to Joseph Riolino, Jr. for 43 years. They met while both working at CHR industries on East St. Beloved mother to Michael (Christine) Riolino and Maria (James) Riccitelli. Grandmother to Max and Brody Riolino and Rylynn Riccitelli.

Regina loved living by the water and the Morris Cove neighborhood. Her favorite places were Lighthouse Park, Fort Hale, and the seawall. She was very proud of her Italian-American heritage and was a member of the San Catello Society.

Regina’s passion was art. She spent countless hours over her lifetime at the Yale Art Gallery surrounded by masterpieces. She loved colors and was an artist herself. Regina loved good music her favorite band being The Beatles. She was an excellent chef and loved her family dearly.

Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford Thursday May 12, 2022 at 10:15 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at St. Bernadette Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Visiting hour prior to church from 9:00 – 10:15 at the funeral home.
