Obituary: Renee McIntyre (Porto Funeral Homes)

Porto Funeral Homes (East Haven/West Haven)

Renee Kosobiecki McIntyre, 55, of North Branford, beloved wife of Scott McIntyre, passed away on July 14, 2026 at her home. Loving mother of Carlie and Cameron McIntyre both of North Branford. Sister of Deborah (Dave) Barger of Branford. Renee was born in New Haven on September 14, 1970 daughter of Esther Pizzorusso Kosobiecki of Branford and the late Carl V. Kosobiecki.

Renee was a fun, loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher and friend whose love and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She and her beloved husband, Scott, were high school sweethearts who first met in Spanish class at the ages of 14 and 15. Their love story grew into a beautiful marriage of 28 years.

She had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together. She loved to throw parties with games and festivities to match every occasion. Known as "Renee" to many but "Barb" by the special few, she was always the life of the party. Her family and friends will miss her karaoke nights and listening to her yell her favorite lyrics.

Renee always put the needs of others before her own. She loved deeply and cared for everyone around her, treating every child and even the neighborhood pets as if they were her own. A talented and dedicated teacher for 28 years and a valued member of the East Haven Public Schools, she leaves a lasting impact on countless students, colleagues and families.

Above all, Renee's family and friends meant the world to her. She was the glue that held everyone together. The house will be far quieter, and we will be lost without her.
