Obituary: Robert W. “Babe” Lyon, Sr.
Robert worked as a limo driver for both Hy's Limousine Worldwide and American Executive Limousine.

Robert W. “Babe” Lyon, Sr., died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the St. Raphael Campus of YNHH after his long battle with COPD. He was born on May 12, 1949 to the late Frank E. and Louisa Popagoda Lyon. Robert worked as a limo driver for both Hy’s Limousine Worldwide and American Executive Limousine. He was a huge fan of Western and Mafia movies, as well as an avid New York Yankee fan, that is until his grandson converted him to Redsox’s nation.
He will be remembered as a true friend to everyone who knew him. He is survived by three sons, Robert (Zara) Lyon, Jr. of Hamden, Frank Lyon of East Haven and Spencer Lyon of Branford, a daughter Mackenzie Lyon of Branford, two brothers, Edmund R. (Marilyn) Lyon of Madison and Ernest (Denise) Lyon of East Haven, as well as two grandchildren, Robert Lyon, III and Rachel Lyon. He was predeceased by a daughter Anna Rose Lyon and a brother Roger R. Lyon.

There will be a memorial mass on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Vincent dePaul Church at 11 am. Burial of ashes will take place at All Saints Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the East Haven Memorial Longobardi – Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708 from 5 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for Robert’s two youngest children, c/o Edmund Lyon, 5 Nursery Lane, Madison, CT 06443.
