Obituary: Ronald F. Onofrio, 71, of East Haven

Ronald F. Onofrio 71, of East Haven beloved husband of Sandra Casey Onofrio passed away on September 15, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Loving father of David (Andrea) Nuzzo of Florida, Traci Durand of Indiana, Angela (Omar Medina) Onofrio of Middletown, Pamela (Eric) Katynski and Erica (Jose) Jimenez all of East Haven. Ron is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Brother of Pasquale F. (Sally) Onofrio Jr. of Milford. Ron was born in New Haven on November 30, 1951 son of the late Pasquale F. and Barbara Austin Onofrio Sr.

Prior to his retirement, Ron was a machine supervisor for Trelleborg.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven THURSDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call WEDNESDAY from 5pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
