Obituary: Thomas Palmisano, 91, of East Haven
A Korean War veteran, devoted family man Thomas was an avid NY Giants fan, he loved building model airplanes, and was a war history buff.
Thomas Palmisano, 91, of East Haven, passed away on August 15, 2020 at West Haven VA Medical Center. He was born in New Haven on May 10, 1929 to the late Thomas and Margaret (Johnson) Palmisano. Thomas was predeceased by his devoted wife of 63 years, Elinor Roddy Palmisano (3/2020).
He leaves behind four loving daughters: Susan Palmisano (Keith Zalinger) of Branford, Laurie Gibbons (Peter) of North Haven, Beth-Lee O’Connor (Matthew) of Hamden and Tracy Castillo (Armando) of Northford along with 14 grandchildren whom he adored; Christopher and Rachel Dickerman; Michael Reynolds (Melissa), Stephen Sudac (Samantha), David Sudac, Matthew Gibbons, Jordan, Kaylee, Ruby and Tessa O’Connor, Nicholas and Benjamin Ghobrial, twins Skylar and Sebastian Gage, and two great-granddaughters, Gabriella Sudac and Emma Reynolds.
Thomas is also predeceased by his brothers Ignacio, Joseph, Andrew, Philip, and Frank Palmisano, and sister Rose D’Angelis. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he adored.

In addition to his role as a devoted husband and father, he was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid NY Giants fan, he loved building model airplanes, and was a war history buff. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by the many people who loved him and whom he loved.
Family will receive mask wearing friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 9 to 11 A.M. at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. His funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home at 11:15 A.M. for a graveside service with Full Military Honors at 11:30 A.M. in East Lawn Cemetery, 58 River Street, East Haven. Please honor and maintain social distancing at the funeral home and cemetery.
