Obituary: Vincent J. Mitchell, 94, of East Haven
He was a former Chairman of the Board of Police Commissioners for the Town of East Haven for many years and a WWII Navy veteran.

Vincent J. Mitchell, 94, of East Haven passed away November 4, 2018 in the St. Raphael Campus. Husband of the late Marjorie Saccavino Mitchell. Father of Patricia (Tim) Allbritton of Pilesgrove, NJ, Leonard D. Mitchell of Seymour, Elizabeth Young of Branford and the late Jean Tiskus. Vincent was born in New Haven May 12, 1924 a son of the late Dominic and Mary Pollack Mitchell.
He is also survived by a sister, Eva Forte of East Haven, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Josephine Kohler, Mary Anderson and Fran Atnes and brothers, John and Victor Mitchell. Prior to his retirement Vincent worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was a former Chairman of the Board of Police Commissioners for the Town of East Haven for many years and a WWII Navy veteran.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Friday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow with military honors in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call THURSDAY from 5:00-8:00 PM.
