October In East Haven: Fall Fun, Festivals & More

Fall is officially here in East Haven, and there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what’s happening close to home.

Here are some events and activities happening in and around East Haven this October.

East Haven Farmers’ Market

When: Sundays through Oct. 12, 2026, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: East Haven Town Green | Main Street and Hemingway Avenue, East Haven

Start a fall Sunday with a little local shopping at the East Haven Farmers’ Market on the Town Green. The weekly market gives residents a chance to browse goods from area vendors from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market continues Sundays through the end of its season.

Pumpkin Patch Trolley 2026

When: Weekends in October, and Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Shore Line Trolley Museum | 17 River Street, East Haven

All aboard for a fall outing at the Pumpkin Patch Trolley 2026, running weekends throughout October plus Monday, Oct. 12, 2026. Families can take a scenic trolley ride to the pumpkin patch, choose a sugar pumpkin to bring home and enjoy seasonal activities along the way. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last trolley departing at 4 p.m., and advance tickets are available online.

Oktoberfest

When: Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Cue & Brew | 131 Commercial Pkwy, Branford

Raise a glass for a good cause at the Oktoberfest Beer & Wine Tasting, hosted by the East Haven Fire Department Co. 1 Ladies Auxiliary at Cue & Brew in nearby Branford. The $35 ticket includes beer tasting, a buffet dinner, raffles and unlimited pool, with a cash bar also available. Proceeds benefit the EHFD Co. 1 Ladies Auxiliary and the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation.

Ask Mr. Haunted

When: Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, 6 p.m.
Where: Hagaman Memorial Library | 227 Main Street, East Haven

Fans of ghost stories can delve into the paranormal during Ask Mr. Haunted at Hagaman Memorial Library. Local author, paranormal researcher and exorcist Jimmy “Mr. Haunted” Petonito will join librarian Chris Hemingway to discuss his decades of investigations, supernatural experiences and work in the field. No RSVP is required, and additional parking is available at East Haven Town Hall, KeyBank after 5 p.m. on weekdays and the Stop & Shop lot behind the library.

Garden Trick Or Treat

When: Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Common Ground High School | 358 Springside Avenue, New Haven

Trade some of the candy for garden-grown goodies during Garden Trick Or Treat, a free outdoor Halloween event for children and their families. Costumed kids can trick-or-treat through the children’s garden, sample healthy foods and meet the farm animals while exploring the campus. The festivities also include kids’ activities, candy and a bake sale.
