All around East Haven this morning you can feel the disgust on what Town Attorney Joseph Zullo wrote regarding the sexual harassment settlement of the Carbone suit. Zullo, to describe this as a victory is a disgusting display that fervors from the building at 250 Main Street thinking that Mayor Joseph Maturo hasn’t admitted to sexually harassing Francine Carbone like it didn’t happen. Did anyone one see the news last night and the sworn deposition of one of the town employees? If you didn’t here it is for you to view. The employee said, that the Mayor stated, “How much do those weigh?” Later the employee said he believed Maturo was referring to Carbone’s breasts. Right there is grounds for Maturo’s termination of employment in any business in this country! Imagine if this was not settled and this is just one of 35 or more witnesses Carbone had. Are they all liars? Maturo would like you to believe that. The facts are a settlement is just like an admission of guilt! There was too much evidence to be presented and more than likely Maturo knew that he would be found guilty. That’s why his attorney made a motion for a settlement last Friday.
We finally heard from the Democratic Town Chairman who has called for Maturo’s resignation. As with anything political you can expect this but what we now need to see is what will the East Haven Republican Party do? There are several women who are party members. Will they tolerate this settlement as just a misunderstanding or hold Maturo to account for what seems to be a pattern of behavior all through his administration?
Now lets point out a few more important people who should be calling for Maturo resignation starting with State Representative candidate Robert Parente, Chairman of the East Haven Republican Party and Vice Chairman of the East Haven Town Council. There is zero chance of Parente getting elected to the 99th District with his close affiliation to Maturo except for his condemnation of Maturo’s aberrant behavior and his push to have the taxpayers of East Haven foot the bill. Lets not also forget that Parente is an employee of Maturo’s and has had himself many terminations of his own employment because of the abusive nature of Mayor Maturo. Parente needs to do the RIGHT THING and not ask Maturo to resign but DEMAND IT!

Then there is The Chairman of The East Haven Town Council, Ken McKay. A fellow Republican and one of the 35+ deposed witnesses to Mayor Maturo’s behavior in front of Francine Carbone. McKay, a life long friend of Joseph Maturo has been standing by Maturo stating that Carbone will not prevail. Well Ken what do you think now? Do you think that a settlement offered by Maturo’s lawyer is a probability of guilt? Especially since your life long friend Maturo stated that the case was frivolous and had no merit? Should Maturo gone all the way? We all no the answer because that’s why there was a settlement. Ken McKay should not ask Joe Maturo for his resignation he should DEMAND IT!!!
This kettle is about to boil over and the East Haven Town Council has to do something to hold Maturo accountable for his actions that have the potential to cost the Tax Payers of East Haven hundreds of thousands of dollars. Each council member should be demanding the resignation of Joseph Maturo. The next Town Council Meeting is on Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 7pm at the East Haven Senior Center. Every resident that is upset about paying for Joe Maturo’s sexual misconduct should be there to voice your opinion.
