UPDATE: Citizens Bank Robbed, 2 Suspects At Large

Two suspects are on the run in connection with the Foxon Road Citizens Bank armed robbery Tuesday afternoon.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The Citizens Bank on Foxon Road was robbed Tuesday afternoon.

East Haven Police Lt. Joseph Murgo said a man came into the bank, waving a gun, hopped on on a counter and fired.

Murho described the suspect as a "black male wearing a mask, gloves, black or dark blue hoodie, black pants or jeans, and basketball sneakers entered the bank brandishing a black revolver."

In stills from surveillance video, the suspect can be seen hopping the counter and, Murgo said, "the suspect’s weapon discharged." Murgo said the round didn't hit anyone.

Murgo said a suspected accomplice was waiting outside of the bank on a street-type bike with no plate, described as a "poor condition white/ blue / black street bike with no fairing."

He said the two suspects then "fled on the motorcycle riding tandem."

Murgo said that the duo was last seen headed westbound on Foxon Road toward New Haven and asked that "anyone who can identify the suspects or who may have witnessed the robbery or the suspect’s escape route is urged to contact the East Haven Police Department at 203-468-3820."
