Police Investigating Armed Robbery At East Haven Hotel
Police said officers are investigating a suspected armed robbery at an East Haven hotel.
EAST HAVEN, CT - Police said officers are investigating a suspected armed robbery that occurred Sunday at the Quality Inn on Frontage Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact the East Haven Police Department.
Police said officers spoke to an employee at the hotel who said she left the front desk unattended briefly to go check on one of the rooms. The employee said she then came back to find a man reaching over the desk and rummaging through her pocketbook, according to a release. Police said the employee told officers the suspect followed behind her when she walked behind the desk to retrieve her pocketbook and pulled a knife out from his pants. He then demanded money from the cash register, police said.

Police said the suspect fled on foot with approximately $192 and the employee’s wallet in his possession. A witness said the suspect got into an older model purple Lincoln Continental before speeding off, headed eastbound on Frontage Road.
Police said the employee described the suspect as a white male with a beard in his late 20’s/early 30’s. He is approximately 5 feet and 9 inches tall with a skinny build, police said.

Police said the suspect was wearing a black baseball hat, a white t-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident. The suspect is believed to be involved in several other armed robberies in the area, police said.
