Recent East Haven High School Graduate Saves a 3-Year-Old Child
The lifeguard saved the child who was pulled underwater by the tide.

EAST HAVEN, CT — East Haven Lifeguard Shannon Wynne is a hero.
During Memorial Day weekend, Town of East Haven Lifeguard Shannon Wynne made a life saving rescue of a 3 year-old child at the East Haven Town Beach, town officials said in a news release Tuesday.
While on duty, Shannon a graduate of East Haven High School, who will be attending Central Connecticut State University in the fall, observed two children who looked like they may be actively drowning.

She immediately jumped off her stand and ran toward the distressed children, followedclosely by one of the mothers.
Shannon grabbed the three year old and pulled her out of the water while the parent pulled out the other. Wynne noted the children were only in a couple of feet of water, but because of hightide there was a sudden drop and the children were no longer able to touch the ground.
