In 2015, in a West Haven 2012 burglary and larceny, he was found guilty and sentenced to two 5-year prison bids. It's not clear how much time he actually spent in jail. But he was arrested in 2017 for burglary again, this time by North Branford Police and was found guilty and sentenced in 2018 to five years, suspended after 15 months.
But since he was in jail during the court process, that time is counted. It's not clear when he was released, but in August of 2019, he's alleged to have committed another burglary.
Lt. Joe Murgo said that East Haven police arrested him in December 2019 for "shoplifting at Work N Gear." He was released and didn't show up for court. So in January, he was charged with failure to appear in court.
But he was again apparently released because on Feb. 25, Doval by arrested by East Haven cops on outstanding PRAWN warrants and was charged with three counts of first-degree failure to appear in court, violation of probation, criminal impersonation, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and sixth-degree larceny.
PRAWN, for Paperless Re-Arrest Warrant Network, is an online system that makes police aware of the existence of a warrant for failure to appear in court or for violation of probation immediately after the warrant is issued.
"With all of these cases adding up, he had a total of $260,000 in bond," Murgo said.
On the three first-degree failure to appear in court cases bond was $150,000. But Doval was also charged with violation of probation for a previous conviction and that bond was $100,000.
He's in the New Haven Correctional Centerwith court dates of March 19 on some charges and April 1 for others.
