"Firstly, I would like to thank our Republican Town Committee Vice-Chair Beth Purcell for nominating me as the Republican Mayoral Candidate for East Haven. I sincerely appreciate her support and vote of confidence.

I am honored to receive this nomination and I am thrilled to have the support of my fellow East Haven Republicans. I am looking forward to heading the ticket with our other well qualified candidates for the seats on Town Council, Board of Finance, Town Clerk and the Board of Education.

During my many years involved in East Haven politics I have watched candidates make promises to get elected and those political promises go by the wayside after the election. The only promise I will make is that as your Mayor, I will work hard for you. I will work to make this the BEST possible East Haven it can be. My focus will be on the following:

I will support improved education in East Haven. Currently more than 50% of our students read below grade level and our district ranks as one of the lowest in the state. While the Board of Education does run as a separate entity in East Haven, I will do my best to see that they
receive the proper support and resources they need to make the necessary improvements.

I will concentrate on improving efficiency in Public Works and Public Safety. I will work to restore our Town Pool and Ice Rink. I will be transparent and will communicate the projected costs of repairs and programs to the taxpayers. I will make sure that East Haven taxes are competitive to ensure that our town is attractive to new businesses. I will ensure that we will have the appropriate level of affordable housing required by the state.

And most importantly, we will have a balanced budget.

I’m looking forward to Building our Future Together."
