“My 15-plus years in this position have been the most satisfying and enjoyable of my entire employment career and words cannot adequately express my thanks to Mayor Maturo, our staff, elected and appointed officials and the employees of the Town for their many years of respect, assistance, cooperation and most of all friendship,” said Gentilesco.

Maturo, who called Gentilesco a “close friend,” also said “he is one of the nicest persons anyone could ever meet.”

“Frank has been the rock of my administration for the past 16 years,” said Maturo. His job encompassed about everything from soup to nuts. Frank did all the labor negotiations, grievances, Human Resources, handled grievances, and constituent complaints regarding taxes.

“Their was nothing ever put on Frank's desk that he did not accomplish in Yeoman fashion. We will miss him coming in every day.”

Gentilesco won’t completely be removing himself from East Haven activities, as he said he will continue to work with the Fall Festival, one of his pet projects, and also the East Haven Rotary and East Haven Chamber of Commerce.
