Salary Hike Approved For Schools Superintendent's Executive Secretary In East Haven

The position will also include a two-year contract as well.

EAST HAVEN, CT – The Board of Education voted to increase the salary range for the position of executive secretary to the school superintendent and clerk to the board at its last meeting.

The board voted, 3-2, to increase the salary range for the position from the previous $36,000-$41,000 to $45,000-$51,000.

The board also voted to offer the person, whenever that person is found, a two-year contract.

The decision to hike the salary offer came after a discussion where the board was told that the salary range for similar positions in surrounding school districts range from $53,000 to $85,000.

School board member Lou Pacelli, who is on the committee screening potential applicants for the position, said the low salary was hampering the interview process.

He said so far the salary was attracting “entry level” candidates.
