Schools COVID-19 Cases At 121, With 10 New Cases Since Monday

EAST HAVEN, CT — In the two days since returning to school after the holiday break, there are 10 positive cases of COVID-19 reported in East Haven school students and teachers, according to data provided by the district.

Saying the new COVID-19 case tracker on the school district website is “live” and will be updated as cases are reported,

“Each day, as we receive notification of new cases," we will update the tracker and send the link using School Messenger, an email from schools superintendent Erica Forti reads.

The tracker, updated just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, shows that since Monday, four staff members from across the district and six students are reported to have tested positive for COVID-19.

A total of 42 teachers/school staff and 79 students have tested positive for the disease since schools reopened in September. The district now has 112 cases.

The district is also relying on families to notify the school nurse if their child or someone in the household has tested positive or is considered to be a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
