Although I touched on this briefly in a prior writing, I feel it is necessary to take it a step further and give some well-deserved praise to Councilman Joe Carfora. Both myself and the Councilman have been flooded with calls complementing him on his defense of our town residents by standing up to the NAACP. One resident actually pulled up beside him in traffic to thank him for what he did. The NAACP is a great organization that has done tremendous things for human rights and fighting for dignity and fairness but the Presidents latest characterization of East Haven with his "not surprised" remark is simply unacceptable. Carfora's strong leadership qualities have come to the forefront with this matter and the entire Democratic party should acknowledge and be proud of this. I know I am.
