Democratic Mayoral Candidate Michael Speer out performed incumbent, 7-term Mayor Joe Maturo in this evening’s debate held at East Haven High School and sponsored by the League of Women Voters.

Speer commented on the debate “I delivered the same message that we’ve always talked about: engaging residents on issues they care about, stable fiscal policies, creating universal Pre-K and bringing integrity back to the Mayor’s office,” stated Democratic Challenger Michael Speer.

“Tonight my opponent reiterated the same old tired and failed policies that have prevented East Haven from moving forward. We need new energy and new ideas that work for the people of East Haven.”

“I’m going to continue to knock on doors and listen to voters,” reiterated Speer. I’m overwhelmed by the positive response we’re getting from voters and confident we will come out on top on November 3rd.”
