Steven Johnson of East Haven obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Steven Johnson, 69 of East Haven passed away peacefully June 19, 2025 at CT Hospice in Branford after a long battle with cancer. In the days leading up to his passing, he was surrounded by family and friends who loved him and will miss him deeply. He was born August 23, 1955 in New Haven to Leo and Carmela “Candy” (Castellon) Johnson. Steven is survived by his brother, Leo Johnson of East Haven along with numerous cousins, including Ann Perrelli, who was like a sister to him, as well as her three children: Kim Perrelli-Strachan (Tom), Anthony Perrelli, and Goddaughter Christi Perrelli.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, his companion and partner of 35 years, Debbie Proctor and an infant brother, Jeffrey Johnson.

Since 2016 Steve was employed as a final inspector for Connecticut Hypodermics Medical Suppliers and always spoke very highly of his work family in Wallingford. Steve loved traveling, going to the movies and had a passion for adventure and spending time outdoors. He was fond of fishing, especially deep sea fishing charters. In his younger years, he also enjoyed golfing, skiing, and was an avid concert-goer, often traveling to pursue these passions (never to forget the train ride from Zeppelin).
