Truths and Myths About Hospice Care: A Panel Presentation
A Panel Presentation with members of several Hospice organizations moderated by Dr. Joseph Balsamo.

The Shoreline Eldercare Alliance invites you to a panel presentation called “Truths and Myths About Hospice Care.” This program will take place at the Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main Street on Saturday, February 20 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Shoreline Eldercare Alliance is a not for profit organization whose mission it is to guide and educate the community about healthy aging and senior life services. SEA is made up of ethical professionals who provide senior adults, their families and community members: education, resource referrals, quality professional services and information on healthy aging.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Joseph Balsamo. Dr. Joseph A. Balsamo attended medical school at the Universidad Del Noreste School of Medicine, Tampico, Mexico. He did his residency training at SUNY Downstate University, Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He practiced Emergency Medicine in New York as well as in Connecticut prior to joining the West Haven Medical Group LLC as a practicing internist. He was section chief of Internal Medicine at The Hospital of St. Raphael for over 10 years. Dr. Balsamo is board certified in internal medicine. His interest is in continuity of care including palliative care. He has privileges at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Milford Hospital. He was a Hospice Medical Director from 2004 - 2015.
