'Urban Farm' Healing By Nature Grand Opening, Ribbon-Cutting Wednesday

Healing By Growing, a therapeutic farm, grows crops, and works with animals for assisted healing of brain injuries and trauma survivors.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Healing By Growing, a therapeutic farm that focuses on growing crops and working with animals for assisted healing of survivors of brain injuries and trauma, is celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday.

Join farm founder Dr. Ivette Ruiz at the"urban healing farm," located at 27 George St., for the event ceremony. Parking is limited and temporary permits from the town will be shared to attendees to park in the neighborhood.

Attendees will include volunteers, sponsors and funders, and community members who
have helped create this urban green space as a sanctuary for healing. The program will
feature brief speaking comments by people involved with the farm followed by tours of
the facility with Ruiz. Light refreshments will be available.
