Vague Threat Against CT Schools Tuesday

The vague threat prompted an increased police presence in at least one school district.

EAST HAVEN, CT — A vague threat on social media that originated from Colorado prompted an increased police presence in at least one school district.

The threat read, "PSA, CT Students everyone need to know not to go to school."

East Haven Police as a precaution will have an increased police presence around dismissal times for the foreseeable future, said Lt. Joseph Murgo, police spokesman. The school district sent a message out to parents in the morning.

"As always, we encourage everyone to report suspicious activity, but please be aware that we do not believe an imminent threat exists," he said.
