Vivian (DePonte) Matthews obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Vivian (DePonte) Matthews, 84 of East Haven passed away September 17, 2025 at St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born June 18, 1941 in New Haven to the Alphonse and Patricia (Manzi) DePonte. Vivian is survived by her two sons; Thomas Matthews and Wayne Matthews along with grandchildren and family.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne T. Matthews Sr. (2019) and a daughter, Tracey Matthews.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday September 26, 2025 at 12 PM (NOON) in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, 355 Foxon Rd. (Route 80), East Haven with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Please go directly to the church on Friday. All services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
