What To Know: Election Day Closings & Veterans Day Ceremony

EAST HAVEN, CT — All town offices will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 5 in observance of Election Day. And, all Town offices will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans’ Day. Trash and recycling pick-up will NOT be affected by the Veterans Day holiday and will be collected on their regular collection days.

The East Haven Veterans Council has announced that this year’s Veterans Day ceremonies will take place on Monday, Nov. 11, at the War Memorial on the East Haven Town Green beginning at 11 a.m..

At 10:45 a.m., veterans and various town and state officials will be leaving American Legion Post 89 on Thompson Ave. and will proceed down Main Street to the Town Green to render Honors.

All veterans are invited to attend the service and take part in the walk to the Town Green. Of course, the public is encouraged to attend. Following the ceremony, all will be invited to the American Legion Post 89 Hall on Thompson Avenue for coffee.
