What To Know About Storm Prep, And Importantly, Parking Bans
Roads need to be free of parked cars so plows can plow. The parking ban for this nor'easter will be aggressively enforced, police said.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Mayor Joseph A. Carfora, the East Haven Police Department and emergency operations officials says storm preparations have been ongoing. Now, the town is asking for residents to abide by the parking ban.
Carfora's message:
The Town of East Haven is expecting a significant snow storm that may bring heavy snow, strong winds and coastal flooding. The storm will begin this evening and continue through until Saturday afternoon. If you can, please stay home so our dedicated workers can get an early start on cleaning our streets.
Our police and fire departments are prepared and ready to respond if needed."
East Haven police make it clear that those who do not comply with the parking ban will be ticketed.
"In anticipation of the impending storm this weekend, we are asking our residents to give themselves enough time to make arrangements to find off street parking.
Please take note: We will be aggressively enforcing the parking ban which will carry a $100.00 penalty if cars are left on the street after a Snow Emergency is declared. Officers will be distributing flyers around town prior to the storm which explains the town ordinance.
Our goal is not to ticket anyone, but we do want to make our hard working Public Works employee’s jobs easier. Help us help them and get those cars off the street as early as possible.
We will be following up with additional posts explaining the Snow Emergency ordinance prior to the beginning of the storm.
As always, stay safe and stay home if you can!"
